Activity Description

Regular education updates are required for pharmacists to maintain and improve current knowledge about the prevention and treatment of anaphylaxis and how to educate patients about their condition and the use of auto-injectors. This e-learning monograph offers a convenient, effective option for pharmacists seeking to improve their knowledge, competence and performance in this regard.

Learning Objectives

After participating in the activity, learners should be better able to:

  • Provide education to both patients at risk for anaphylaxis and caregivers to improve auto-injection technique
  • Identify appropriate elements of patient action plans to prevent or manage anaphylaxis episodes in order to discuss them with individuals at risk for anaphylaxis
  • Appropriately refer patients with anaphylaxis for specialty follow-up care and education to both prevent and manage future anaphylaxis episodes

Method of Participation

To receive CPE credit for your participation, please complete the post-test (achieving a passing grade of 70% or greater), and program evaluation. Your certificate can be printed immediately. For pharmacists, a statement of credit will be issued through CPE Monitor in 6-8 weeks. Only learners who provided valid NABP e-Profile ID numbers and month and day of birth (MMDD) will be submitted to CPE Monitor for official record of credit.
