GOAL STATEMENT
This webinar will provide pharmacists with the most recent clinical and pharmacologic information surrounding antiretroviral therapy (ART) as well as pharmacist involvement in HIV management based on American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) guidelines. This program will address the pharmacist’s role in counseling patients about switching options and the importance of reviewing polypharmacy for patients with comorbid conditions.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is intended for clinical and community pharmacists involved in the care of patients with HIV infection.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Discuss potential treatment regimens for patients on ART who are interested in switching based on drug tolerability
- Identify HIV polypharmacy issues related to ART management in the aging HIV population
- Provide patient-centered counseling regarding HIV infection and treatment to optimize ART adherence and retention in care

In order to receive credit, participants must complete the following:

- Complete the Postactivity Test Questions and Evaluation
- Achieve a grade of 70% on the Postactivity Test Questions and complete the Evaluation to receive credit.
- Pharmacist learners must check the CPE Monitor for their credit within 60 days of the activity.
