Goal  To provide managed care and specialty pharmacists with enhanced knowledge on patient quality of life (QoL) considerations including treatment expectations, immune-related adverse events (irAE) recognition and management, and financial considerations both while receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and in the survivorship phase post-treatment to allow these pharmacists to positively impact the quality of their patients’ lives and thereby improve outcomes.

Learning Objectives  Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:

Assess adverse events associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors and their unique management strategies

Identify issues and strategies to improve the quality of life for patients on immune checkpoint inhibitors

Recognize effective communication strategies and gaps in communication and the need for both upfront and follow-up communication to improve outcomes

Formulate: strategies to overcome barriers to treatment including financial and access issues

Credits: 1.5 hour (0.15 ceu)
