Goal Statement

Differentiate key aspects of heart failure presentation and treatment between men and women to enable pharmacists to provide individualized treatment recommendations and supportive care.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be better able to:

Employ guideline-directed medical therapy consistent with the 2017 ACC/AHA/HFSA heart failure guidelines and other evidence to reduce the burden of heart failure

Compare and contrast heart failure characteristics and management between men and women

Apply heart failure guidelines toward medical therapy and supportive care in women with heart failure

Credits: 1.0 hour (0.10 ceu)
