Post-Graduate Training

Unsure if a residency or fellowship is right for you? You can use this free resource from the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) to start learning about your different options.

You can also search the free American Society of Health-System Pharmacy (ASHP) database of pharmacy residencies by state and by program type, including international residencies. This comprehensive, all-in-one resource includes details, such as annual stipend and accreditation status.

When the time comes to apply for a residency, you’ll have to be familiar with the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS) platform. You can find all the answers to your application questions using this resource.

Thinking about a pharmaceutical industry fellowship instead? While there isn’t a one-stop-shop for all available pharmaceutical industry fellowships, check out some of the larger programs as a good starting point.

Pharmacist Licensure Resources

When it comes to licensure most states require The North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination® (NAPLEX®) and the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination® (MPJE®). The licensure process is managed by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).

The NAPLEX® is designed to evaluate general practice knowledge, while the MPJE® is designed to assess your application of laws and regulations specific to your state/jurisdiction. Both are taken by recent college of pharmacy graduates shortly after they receive their degree.
